Man steals police vehicle at accident scene

A 19-year-old man will appear in court in Barkley West on Monday for stealing a police vehicle.

According to a police statement, the man had been involved in an accident with another vehicle on Saturday.

While police were attending to the scene, the suspect jumped into a police vehicle and sped off.

He was later arrested with the help of the Tactical Response Team.

Police said the teenager faced a charge of theft of a motor vehicle.
