Man robbed and hijacked outside bank in Gqeberha

Police in Gqeberha have launched a manhunt for three armed men who robbed a man outside a bank in Newton Park on Tuesday.

Spokesperson Colonel Priscilla Naidu says a 51-year-old man had just exited the bank after 9 am when he was accosted by the suspects.

She says the complainant was about to get into his car when he was threatened at gunpoint.

Colonel Naidu says the suspects hijacked his Hyundai i10 and fled the scene.

She says an undisclosed amount of cash was also stolen.

A case of armed robbery and hijacking is under investigation.
