A farmer who was brutally attacked during a robbery in Nqanqarhu (Maclear) in April has died.
Francis Davidson (74) succumbed to his injuries in a hospital in East London on Tuesday.
Police confirmed that a case of murder is now under investigation.
Davidson was attacked and brutally assaulted by three men on the farm Whoa-Ha, near the Port River Bridge in April, leaving him with burn wounds to his upper body.
Police spokesperson, Captain Ursula Roelofse said he was found after his son went to the farm to check on him.
At the time police reported that the assailants had cooked food and ate before leaving in the morning in Davidson’s bakkie which was found torched in the Tsitsana Katkop area.
Three suspects are in custody in connection with the farm attack and the matter is still pending in court.
