A Kwazulu Natal man has pleaded guilty to defrauding a popular Port Elizabeth clothing store of more than 8 million rand.
The 32-year-old Ravishkar Ramgoolam from Newcastle pleaded guilty in the PE Commercial Crimes Court on Monday to 37 counts of fraud totalling more than R 8.3 million rand.
He stole the money whilst working as an accountant at BMT Street Fever in Port Elizabeth.
In his plea statement, Ramgoolam said that he had substituted the banking details of Street Fever's creditors and suppliers with his own banking details.
He had nine bank accounts at different banking institutions which he used to deposit monies into.
He is out on bail of R5 000 and will be sentenced on the 11th June.
