An unknown man was fatally injured in a motor collision in Melbrooks Avenue in Uitenhage at about six o'clock Monday evening.
According to police information, a taxi swerved for a pedestrian on Melbrooks bridge.
The man was struck by the left side mirror and died at the scene.
The driver immediately stopped his vehicle and contacted the police.
A case of Culpable Homicide is being investigated.
Anyone who may be able to assist in identifying the deceased, who is about 65 years old, is asked to contact the SAPS at Uitenhage.
