A man has jumped to his death off the Van Stadens bridge west of Port Elizabeth.
Police spokesperson, Warrant Officer Gerda Swart, confirmed this morning that a man jumped to his death.
She says he was believed to be from Jeffreys Bay, but further details are not yet available.
Police members are still at the bottom of the gorge to retrieve the body.
Since the bridge was opened in November 1971, 88 people have jumped to their deaths.
