A 30-year man from Karatara appeared in the Knysna Magistrate's Court on Tuesday in connection with the murder of a 68-year-old woman.
Police spokesperson, Captain Malcolm Pojie, says Renier Hartzenberg, was remanded in custody.
He said earlier that the woman's body was found in her home in Karatara over the weekend after neighbours became suspicious of her whereabouts.
She had been killed by a blow to the head with a blunt object.
Pojie says case against Hartzenberg was postponed to the 29th of January for further investigation.
