The police’s Gang Task Team in Port Elizabeth arrested two suspects within three hours of a shooting, which left one person dead in the city’s Northern Areas on Monday.
Spokesperson, Colonel Priscilla Naidu, says two friends were walking in Highfield Road in Schauderville towards Gelvandale when the shooting occurred.She says it is alleged that two people walked up behind the pair and started to fire shots.Rouche Cross (25) sustained multiple gunshot wounds to the head and body, and died at the scene.
Naidu says his friend managed to flee, after sustaining a gunshot wound to one of his feet.
The suspects, aged 27 and 33 years were arrested in Schauderville on Monday night.
Police are investigating a case of murder and attempted murder.
