Detectives in Algoa Park are seeking the community’s assistance in identifying the body of a man that was found lying on a gravel road in Missionvale on Tuesday night.
Spokesperson, Colonel Priscilla Naidu, says police responded to the complaint near Jack Street at about seven o clock.
She says the victim was found lying on his stomach after the community heard several gunshots in the area.
Naidu says the deceased, who is a coloured male is believed to be in his twenties.
She says he was wearing blue jeans, takkies and a white jacket at the time of his death.
The circumstances surrounding the murder remain unknown at this stage, but the police are urging anyone with information to come forward.
