Man electrocuted in Kariega mini substation - next of kin sought

Police in Kariega are seeking community assistance in tracing the next of kin of two bodies that were found in unrelated incidents.

Spokesperson Captain Sandra Janse van Rensburg says on 30 December, a man was found dead in a mini substation at the corners of John and Durban streets.

She says the man was electrocuted.

The deceased is estimated to be between 20 and 30 years of age and was dressed in a brown vest and blue denim.

Captain Janse van Rensburg says the following day, local fishermen spotted the body of a woman floating in the Swartkops River.

She says police divers retrieved the badly decomposed body.

The deceased was dressed in a blue check shirt, cream trousers and black socks.
