The 10-year-old boy who tragically passed away after he drowned in an open hole in Missionvale will be laid to rest on Wednesday.
Elviro Langford, who was due to start Grade 4 this year, died on Tuesday last week, a day after his family ushered in the new year.
Community members say he was playing with friends close to the hole, that is part of a swampy, makeshift dam.
The hole had no warning enclosure at the time of the tragedy.
The now-cordoned off area was only attended to on Tuesday by municipal officials who put up a bright yellow and red enclosure where the little boy lost his life.
