Man dies after vehicle plunges down cliff at Voëlklip

George police opened an inquest docket after a man died when his vehicle went down a cliff at Voëlklip, at Herolds Bay.

Police spokesperson, Sergeant Chris Spies, said emergency services were dispatched to the scene at about 15:30 on Thursday after a member of the public raised the alarm.

He said a search and rescue operation resulted in the retrieval of the body of a 50-year-old man, from George.

Spies said the investigation into this matter continues.

The name of the deceased has not yet been released.
