A Booysen Park man has died in hospital after he was electrocuted at the Vastap informal settlement at the weekend, while trying to save the life of his child.
Police spokesperson Captain Sandra Janse van Rensburg says 33-year-old Siyadumisa Mbombo rushed to his six-year-old daughter's aid on Saturday when he heard she had stepped on live electrical wires.
However, he too was electrocuted.
Both father and daughter were rushed to hospital, but Mbombo unfortunately passed away shortly after his arrival at Livingstone hospital.
The little girl was transferred to Dora Nginza hospital for further medical treatment.
