Police in Port Elizabeth are investigating a case of murder after the body of a man was found on the side of a gravel road.
Spokesperson Colonel Priscilla Naidu says a patrolling police vehicle was stopped just after 10 am on Monday where they were informed about the body of an adult man lying in the road between Greenbushes and Standford Road in Booysens Park.
She says the man who is believed to be in his thirties sustained several wounds to his head and face and was also shot in the chest and the back.
Police suspect that the person was killed somewhere else before his body was dumped on the side of the road.
Bethelsdorp detectives are now looking for any leads to identify the victim and to find his next of kin.
