A 32-year-old man is expected to appear in the Queenstown Magistrates court this week following his arrest for possession of abalone.
Police spokesperson Captain Namhla Mdleleni says they received information about a motorist driving from East London who loaded abalone into his car.
She says the suspect was pulled over and his car searched.
Police confiscated abalone with an estimated street value of R186 950.
He will be charged with possession of abalone and Contravening the Marine Living Resources Act.
