Man arrested for public violence during KWT protest

Breidbach residents near King William's Town have closed the N-2 on the way to East London in a service delivery protest.  

King William's Town police spokesperson, Lieutenant Siphokazi Mawisa, says the protesters barricaded the road with rocks and other debris early on Wednesday morning. 

Mawisa said told AlgoaFM News that protesters threw stones at passing vehicles and that police fired rubber bullets to try and disperse the crowd.

She added that one man had been arrested so far.

Residents say they will not leave until they are addressed by the BCM mayor.
