A 21- year- old relative has been arrested for the murder of 70- year-old Vuyiswa Faba of Hlalani Location, Grahamstown.
Captain Mali Govender says her body was found lying in a pool of blood in her home in the early hours of yesterday morning.
The front door was open and Faba had a wound to the upper body.
The motive for the murder has not yet been established and the suspect is due to appear in the Grahamstown Magistrates Court tomorrow on a charge of murder.
Meanwhile, Lady Frere police in the North-Eastern Cape are searching for the suspects who shot and killed a 49-year-old man at Cacadu locality.
Police say the deceased was parking his vehicle in his yard when gunshots fired while he was still inside his vehicle.
The suspects then fled the scene.
A case of murder has been opened and anyone with information is asked to call the police's 10111 centre.
