A 27-year-old man has been arrested at Cofimvaba in the Eastern Cape for killing two Grade 12 learners.
Police spokesperson, Captain Namhla Mdleleni says it is alleged that two girls, aged between 17 and 18, were at their homestead on Friday evening, when the suspect entered and an argument ensued with one of them, claiming to be his girlfriend.
He then stabbed her several times, and she died at the scene.
Mdleleni says the other girl tried to intervene, and she was also stabbed, but she managed to run to a nearby house for assistance.
When police arrived, she was also found dead.
Both girls were learners at Mncuncuzo High School.
The suspect will appear in the Cofimvaba Magistrate's Court on Monday on murder charges.
