Two women were killed but a man and a dog miraculously survived a plane crash in the Humansdorp area on Wednesday.
Police spokesperson, Warrant Officer Gerda Swart, said Cessna aircraft with three occupants crashed in the mountains of the Palmietrivier area near Humansdorp Wednesday afternoon.
She says rescue units from various departments were dispatched to the scene.
Swart said when they arrived on scene they found two women, aged 50 and 57, had died.
She says a male crash victim was airlifted to hospital in Port Elizabeth while a little dog that was also on the plane survived.
Swart said an inquest docket had been opened and the crash is being investigated by the relevant authorities.
The names of the victim have not yet been released.
Unconfirmed reports said that the plane was en route to Plettenberg Bay.
