Port Elizabeth police are seeking the community's assistance in tracing the next-of-kin of a man who was beaten to death and found lying on the side of the Addo Road on Saturday.
Spokesperson, Colonel Priscilla Naidu says police attended to a complaint of two injured men, aged 27 and 38, lying next to the road.
She says they were severely beaten.
Naidu says the third man in his 20's, was found nearby with head wounds.
She says it is alleged that the three men were together and were picked up in Ikamvelihle by a group of men driving a white Quantum on Friday night.
The men accused them of stealing cables and severely assaulted them with rocks.
They were then dumped at the side of the road.
One of them succumbed to his injuries.
Swartkops police are investigating a case of murder and two cases of attempted murder.
