Major boost for Buffalo City's hospitality industry

Accommodation establishments and the hospitality industry in Buffalo City are expected to get a major boost when East London hosts the 8th annual SA Traditional Music Achievement Awards for the second year.

The venue for this weekend's awards ceremony has been changed to Buffalo Park Stadium because of the over-crowding at the East London International Convention Centre last year.

Organizer, Nomcelo Msweli says they are expecting about 5 000 guests to attend the multi-cultural award ceremony.

She adds that the awards have received a record 1.5 million votes for nominees this year.

Msweli says the two day event brings with it plenty of economic benefits for the host city.

"We are bringing people into East London from different cultures who will be spending their money on accommodation and restaurants" she said.
