ANC Nelson Mandela Bay councillor Andile Lungisa has suggested that the issue of colour is still a consideration in court judgments.
He made the remark in an interview with TD Media which is based in Nelson Mandela Bay and which was posted on Twitter on Tuesday.
Lungisa's comments were in response to Makhanda High Court judge Judith Roberson's ruling rejecting Lungisa's application for leave to appeal his assault conviction and effective two year sentence for assaulting a DA councillor during the infamous Council brawl in 2016.
He says he had a right to defend himself during the Council brawl, telling TD Media that he will approach the Supreme Court of Appeal in Bloemfontein and if necessary, pursue it further in the Constitutional Court.
