A number of Loggerhead sea turtle hatchling have been washing up along Mossel Bay beaches.
The Stranded Marine Animal Rescue Team's Tersia Marais says turtles wash up annually, especially when a cold front hits the coastline this time of year.
Loggerhead sea turtles are classified as endangered by the International Union for the Conservation of Nature.
Marais says the sea turtle hatchlings weigh between 30 and 100 grams and should not be put back into the sea.
The Stranded Marine Animal Rescue Team is appealing to the public to rather take the sea turtles to the Diaz Aquarium from where they will be taken to Bayworld in Port Elizabeth to be rehabilitated.
