Loadshedding groups in NMBM to increase from 8 to 19

The Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality has unpacked new changes regarding the implementation of loadshedding in the Metro.

As of the 2nd of March, the municipality will be adding more groups to the loadshedding schedule.

The domestic groups will increase from 8 to 19 with additional suburbs added.

The new schedule will be calculated over a cycle of 19 days with a reduction in the number of times a group is shed.

This means that domestic groups will not be shed for longer than two hours at a time, certain areas will thus not be shed multiple times a day which was a problem previously.

Industrial groups will be shed for four hours at a time if Eskom announces stage 5 which is the new emergency stage.

The new schedules and groups will be available on the Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality website from Wednesday.
