Nearly 100 large drums with liquor illegally destined for Saudi Arabia, has been found at the Ngcura-harbour outside Port Elizabeth.
Police spokesperson, Constable Mncedi Mbombo, says the anti-smuggling team of the border police responded to a tip-off about a container filled with alcohol.
They found some 180 twenty-litre drums in the container, with more than half of them containing liquor.
Mbombo says the estimated value of the liquor is about R2.5-million.
Police have opened a fraud- and illegal sale of liquor docket, but no-one has been arrested.
