The search will continue on Thursday morning for a single seater aircraft that went missing in the area around Alexandria.
Police spokesperson, captain John Fobian, says 3 small planes were en route from Port Alfred towards Mossel Bay when they hit heavy cloudy and misty weather.
He says they apparently split up to avoid the bad weather.
"About 20km outside Alexandria they suddenly picked up heave cloud and mist, two of them managed to divert to upper levels and towards the sea and make it into PE to land. One plane is still missing. We did dispatch a helicopter last night as well as ground crews, people on foot and vehicles" he said
