A 35-year-old man has been jailed for life for his reign of terror against women and the elderly in Gqeberha.
Thembelani "Tall" Ntantiso was jailed for life in the Regional Court on Tuesday for raping a 62-year-old woman during a break-in at her home in Overbaakens in 2018.
National Prosecuting Authority spokesperson, Anelisa Ngcakani, said his reign of terror included a break-in at a Walmer retirement home where he robbed a couple in their seventies.
He took their cell phones, television, and cash.
Ngcakani said between 2017 and 2018 he also robbed two female cyclists in separate day-light incidents.
She said on top of the life sentence, Ntantiso was sentenced to a total of 30 years imprisonment on two counts of robbery with aggravated circumstances, nine years imprisonment on three counts of housebreaking, and a further nine years on three counts of robbery.
