Lenghty jail terms for Eastern Cape police killers

Eastern Cape Provincial Police Commissioner, Lt -Gen Celiwe Binta has welcomed stiff sentences handed to three men, found guilty of murdering a Dutywa Policeman.
The three, 26-year old Prince Mayongo, Alfred Moleleki Madela aged 36, and 31-year old Siyabulela Mjali were sentenced in the Mthatha High Court to a total of 285 years in jail on Thursday.
Police spokesperson, Capt Jackson Manatha says four men, armed with pistols, robbed a Dutywa garage of undisclosed amount of money in August 2010 very early in the morning.
He says the robbers fled in a car, but it later broke down, and in a shoot-out with the police, 27 year old Constable Vuyisanani Khetabahle was killed by the suspects.
