The Nelson Mandela Bay Metro Municipality says it will make a full assessment of the operational readiness of its traffic centres in the Metro on Thursday.
This, after hundreds of irate people were turned away from the Korsten centre on Wednesday, apparently after staff took sick leave.
This followed a period of industrial action which led to the closure of all traffic services in the Metro as well as libraries.
Speaking on the DMB on Algoa FM , Metro spokesperson, Kupido Baron, said they've just come off a period of intense industrial action involving traffic admin staff.
He said the latest problems could be linked to that dispute.
"We did have an operational problem on Wednesday where cashiers did not pitch up for work as we are now assessing the situation one of our assistant directors is currently checking all the different centres to give feedback in terms of our operational readiness." Baron said
