The levels of Nelson Mandela Bay’s main supply dams are inching ever-lower.

According to the latest figures released by the Municipality on Friday morning, the Metro’s four main supply dams are now at a combined capacity of just 17.01%

The largest of the supply dams, the Kouga, is at a mere 6.78%, the Churchill at 49.95%, the Impofu at 16.71 and the Groendal dam at 25.94%.

Meanwhile, the forecast desk of the Port Elizabeth Weather Office reports that cold, windy and wet conditions are expected over the bulk of the province this weekend.

Showers are expected south of the escarpment, especially along the coastal belt and adjacent interior between Plettenberg Bay and East London.

This will be accompanied by strong winds.

Snow can be expected over the high ground, especially over the Sneeuberg, Winterberg and Tsitsikama Mountains.
