Eastern Cape police are investigating the theft of a large quantity of copper cable in the Thornhill area.
Police spokesperson, warrant officer Gerda Swart, says more than 2 300 metres of cable had been stolen over a period of time.
She's appealed to anyone who may have information on the theft to contact the police.
The stolen cable is reportedly worth nearly a million rand.
