Four gunmen have robbed a security officer while he was transporting money to a bank at Addo in the Eastern Cape.
Police spokesperson Priscilla Naidu says according to police information, a security company transports cash for a garage owner in Addo.
Naidu says the security officer was accosted by the four men on Monday who drove off with his bakkie.
The bakkie was found abandoned in bushes about 1km from the crime scene.
Naidu says a large amount of money was stolen.
No arrests have been made and a case of armed robbery and vehicle hijacking is being investigated.
