A 30-year-old woman has been sentenced to life imprisonment for raping a 10-year-old boy in KwaZulu Natal.
Police spokesperson, Lieutenant Colonel Thulani Zwane, says the woman was caught raping the child at his younger brother's birthday party in August last year.
He says the sentence was handed down on Tuesday at the Eshowe Regional Court after it had heard how she raped him in a rondavel house once all the family members had gone to sleep.
Zwane says the child later told his mother that she had raped him twice before.
He says the extensive investigation by Eshowe Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences members resulted in her arrested in September last year.
