Knysna seahorse poaching -no progress in investigation

SanParks confirmed that there is still no concrete progress in the investigation on the poaching of the Knysna seahorse.

Algoa FM News reported earlier that the seahorses are being threatened in their natural habitat in the Knysna Estuary.

SANparks spokesperson, Nandi Mgwadlamba, said the sea horses were recently caught during low tide with the use of a fishing net.

In another instance suspects tried to sell seahorses to residents in the area.

Mgwadlamba asked the community to be on the lookout for any sinister activities and to contact the local police or SANparks if they witness any such activities.
