A Knysna man who allegedly dragged his dog behind his car, appeared in the town's magistrate's court on Tuesday.
Sixty-five-year-old Petrus Meyer, was released on a warning and the case was postponed to the 11th of July.
Meyer, who was arrested on Saturday, had allegedly dragged the dog behind his car in a fit of anger after it escaped from his house.
The dog was admitted to the Knysna Veterinary Clinic for treatment.
