A man, believed to be in his thirties, was killed on Sunday night in an apparent hit-and-run accident on Main Road in Kynsna.
ER24 said when their paramedics arrived on the scene they found a scooter lying in the middle of the road and the body of the rider approximately ten metres away.
Spokesperson, Russel Meiring, said paramedics assessed the man and found that he had sustained numerous injuries and showed no signs of life.
"Unfortunately, nothing could be done for him and he was declared dead," he said.
Meiring said the driver of the truck was not found on the scene, adding that local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
