A 28-year-old Knysna man is due to appear in court on Monday for the alleged murder of his mother.
Police spokesperson, Captain Malcolm Pojie, said the suspect was arrested late on Friday night following the discovery of the partially decomposed body of his 59-year-old mother in bushes between Alemein and Stroebel Streets in Hornlee on Tuesday.
He said the woman, whose name has not yet been released, was reported missing after last being seen on 7 January.
Pojie said while an autopsy was already done, the report will be submitted to court as part of the evidence.
He said the man will face a charge of murder when he appears in the Knysna Magistrate's Court.
