Knysna Fisherman drowns

Knysna police have opened an inquest docket following the death of a fisherman.

The National Sea Rescue Institute says witnesses reported seeing the unidentified man being washed off rocks at Buffalo Bay at the Wild Side yesterday afternoon.

Graeme Harding of the Knysna NSRI station says bystanders reported getting to the man and dragging his lifeless body onto the rocks.

He says his body was eventually recovered by NSRI rescuers.

The fisherman's identity is not yet known.
