The Knysna policeman accused of shooting a motorist in an apparent road rage attack at the weekend appeared briefly in the Knysna Magistrates Court on Tuesday.
Forty two year-old sergeant Benjamin Theunissen, who is facing attempted murder and theft charges, was remanded in custody and the case was postponed to the 4th of April.
The off-duty policeman was arrested in Fitcherd Street, Knysna, on Saturday night after he allegedly shot 31-yer-old Malamoela Bennett.
It is alleged that Theunissen shot Bennett in the chest after Bennett reversed his bakkie into the road in front of his vehicle.
