Known gangster gunned down in PE's Northern Areas

Port Elizabeth police say a 37 year known gangster was fatally shot in Helenvale, in the city's northern areas late on Wednesday afternoon.

Spokesperson, Colonel Priscilla Naidu says it is alleged that the victim was standing in the street when two men approached him.

She says both men allegedly opened fire on him, and the man died at the scene.

The suspects ran away, and no arrests have yet been made.

Police are investigating a case of murder.
