Police in Kirkwood are investigating a case of murder after a woman was gunned down in her home on Wednesday night.
Spokesperson Sergeant Majola Nkohli says the 50-year-old Ngeniswa Kama died from a single gunshot wound.
It is alleged that an unknown man stormed into her house in Moses Mabhida, Kirkwood where he instructed the Kama's relatives to lie on the floor.
Nkohli says he then allegedly switched off the lights before firing one shot and fleeing the scene.
According to the family, the man was wearing a blue overall and a beanie.
Kama was rushed to hospital where she later died.
