Police are investigating a case of attempted murder following a shooting incident at a house of a councillor in Kirkwood in the Eastern Cape on Youth Day.
Police spokesperson, Brigadier Tembinkosi Kinana, said the Councillor sustained injuries on the upper body.
He said the circumstances surrounding the incident are currently under investigation.
Kinana said no arrest has been made at this stage as the suspect is still at large.
"A case of attempted murder is under investigation. Police are appealing to anyone who can assist with the information that can lead to the arrest of the suspect to contact the nearest police station or Crime Stop on 08600 10111," Kinana said.
