A 35 year old King William's Town suspect has been arrested in connection with the kidnapping and rape of a 19-year old Dutywa high school learner.
Police Captain Jackson Manatha says the victim was lured by the man last weekend after initially striking up a conversation with him on Facebook.
She was forcibly taken to his home at Mount Coke, King William's Town where she was raped.
The suspect was arrested on Thursday and will appear in court next Tuesday on charges of rape and kidnapping.
Butterworth Cluster Commander Brigadier Mbeko Sibidla praised his detective team for the arrest of the suspect and warned young girls to avoid chatting with strangers on social media networks.
