Learners from Ridgeview Primary school in Mossel Bay were once again sent home on Thursday morning as the school does not have functioning toilets.
This is due to vandalism of the school infrastructure, including the toilets.
Pipes have been stolen and the school fence was broken down.
According to the chairperson of the School Governing Body, Eugene Kiewiets, the provincial department of education is aware of the problem.
It is alleged that the department promised to deliver 40 mobile toilets on Wednesday afternoon so that excited grade ones and the more than 1000 learners at the school, could start their school year like the rest of the learners in the province.
The school was however informed on Thursday morning, that the mobile toilets will not be delivered on time.
Learners were sent home for a second time and could once again not start their formal schooling.
