It has been more than seven weeks since Gqeberha businessman, Ashraf Laher was hijacked and kidnapped in Korsten.
Hawks Eastern Cape spokesperson, Captain Yolisa Mgolodela, told Algoa FM News that negotiations were still in process.
Laher was hijacked by several men at gunpoint while driving his Ford Ranger bakkie on Durban Road in Korsten on the 19th of October.
His vehicle was found abandoned later on Eveready Road in Sidwell.
The Hawks were later brought in to lead the investigation.
Mgolodela said in a brief response to an inquiry, that Laher still "remains under a hostage" situation and negotiations were still continuing.
