Police in Kariega are appealing to the public for help in tracing the family of a man who was found shot death on Saturday morning.
Spokesperson, Captain Sandra Janse Van Rensburg, said police received a report of the body of a man found on a gravel road next to Cembu Street cemetery.
“On arrival they found the body of a man with gunshot wounds to his head and back,” she said.
Janse Van Rensburg said the deceased was dressed in black jeans, with a black belt, black T-shirt, navy jacket and black and white Ellesse takkies.
She said he is between 25 and 30 years of age.
“The motive and the suspect are unknown and a case of murder is under investigation,” she said.
“Anyone who can assist in tracing his family or may be able to identify him, is asked to contact SAPS Kamesh Detective Sergeant Benjamin Van Wyk on 071 475 1946 or Crime Stop on 08600 10111 or the nearest police station”.
