Eight of the nine people who were gunned down in Kwanobuhle, Kariega, last week have been identified.
Police say the identity of the ninth deceased is still unknown.
The deceased have been named by police as Lizo Ntantawe (26), Misumzi Willie (26), Siphiwo Mntana (53), Siphosethu Jonas (23), Siyamthanda Vusani (24), Siyamthanda Spogter (18), Wamkelo Lukashe (37) and Zukisa Sokhiya (25).
Meanwhile, the five suspects arrested in connection with the shooting mayhem in Kwanoubhle appeared in the Kariega Magistrate's Court on Monday.
They were arrested by a multi-disciplinary team at a suspected hide-out in Summerstrand on Friday of last week.
The suspects have been identified as 28-year-old Luvuyo Madela, Nkosinathi Zonke (30), Ludwe Djantjies (29), Smiselo Lukwe (26) and Siyabulela Ndamse (34) .
They have been charged with nine counts of murder.
Police spokesperson, Priscilla Naidu says the suspects have been remanded in custody and are expected back in court on the 24th of October.
