Kareedouw man arrested for murder of teenage girlfriend

Police in Kareedouw have arrested a 22 year old man for the murder of his teenage girlfriend.

Police spokesperson, warrant officer, Gerda Swart, says the man was arrested this morning after the body of 18 year old Marietjie Ruiters was found on a footpath in Kanarie Street last night.

She had several stab wounds to her upper body.

Swart says police were acting on a tip-off when they arrested her boyfriend.

The motive for the killing is not yet known and the suspect will appear in court soon.
