A Man from Kareedouw who escaped from the local police station on Thursday was re-arrested on Friday.
Police Spokesperson Sergeant Majola Nkohli says the 24-year-old Enrich Ruiters was hiding in a house in Woodlands in Stormsriver.
Police received information and within an hour arrested him in his house.
Police confiscated several items from his shack, believed to have been stolen.
Ruiters initially appeared on an assault charge but police now also suspect that he can be linked to a theft and housebreaking case.
He will appear in court soon.
