When the case was called in the Magistrates Court on Wednesday, State Prosecutor Melani Hammett told the court there was an indication that Kannemeyer wanted to plead guilty.
She asked that the matter be postponed so that plea consultations could take place between the State and the defence.
The matter was also postponed for further investigation.
Before exiting the dock, Kannemeyer blew a kiss to his children and other family members who were seated in the public gallery.
He will appear in court again on 2 May.
